Disabled Persons Swimming Club

For 50 years Birkenhead Rotary has supported the Disabled Persons Swimming Club, together club memebrs also take part in the Rotary Disabled Games, held each year and members are treated to a local pantomime each feastive season.

Wirral Life Education Centre

Together with a number of Wirral Rotary Clubs our club supports Wirral Life Education Centre (LEC).  LEC is an innovative mobile classroom providing interesting programmes to children, involving parents, to enable them to make healthy choices.

Eradication of Polio

For a number of years now the Rotary movement world-wide has raised funds and provided assistance to eradicate polio.  Following two huge recent donations from the Bill Gates Foundation that Rotary pledged to match, the resulting funds should assist to eradicate polio forever.

Help following natural or other humanitarian disasters across the world

Shelter Box, the amazing innovation that came from a member of Helston Rotary Club in Cornwall, has developed into a major lifesaving organisation.  The boxes can be flown or shipped across the world and provide up to 10 people with shelter, water purification, cooking utensils and bedding.  They are stored ready to be distributed immediately there is a need anywhere in the world.


Rotary Youth Speaks Competition

Providing a platform for Wirral School Students to develop their debating skills.


And finally we have fun too, attending special visits to such places as Ness Botanical Gardens, Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral, the Royal Liver Building, Liverpool Philharmonic, a Liverpool Synagogue, canal trips and lots more.
